BIOGRAPHY

Ekaterina Adelskaya is a Russian multimedia artist, born in Moscow in 1988. In her artistic practice, she often experiments with transformative reactions of materials through fire techniques. Psychology, philosophy and the natural process of physical decay are her main sources of inspiration.

In 2012 Ekaterina graduated from the Russian State University of Cinematography and worked in a number of film studios including 'Mosfilm'. Gradually, alongside work in films, she began working on art projects. The desire to develop art skills helped her to enter the BA (Hons) Fine Art course at the University of Hertfordshire & BHSAD, from which she graduated in 2019.

Throughout the Fine Art course, Ekaterina's outcomes won first prizes, including a competition 'Space' at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center as well as a competition 'Urban Landscape' at the IZO Art Gallery in Moscow. Also, she has participated in exhibitions in Russia and Europe, among them the ArtPlay Centre and the Espacio Gallery in London, United Kingdom. On top of that, her works have been publishing in art magazines worldwide.
